Are You Listening To Your Inner Guidance?

(Yes…I Got Married!)))

Today is a gorgeous day in Northern California.  It’s the perfect temperature as I sit on my patio finishing up some work for the day.  Yesterday as I was catching up with a friend she was telling me a story that ended with…“I just knew something wasn’t right!”

How many times have you had that pit in your stomach, that nagging feeling, the little voice in your head that just wouldn’t let something go?

Well my dear that is your friend.  Call it your intuition, instinct, or your connection to the Divine, but that feeling is there to guide you.  The more you listen to that voice or feeling the better friends you’ll become! The problem is we usually ignore it.  We think we’re being silly to have those thoughts or we’re just making excuses to not do something.

WHY AREN’T WE LISTENING TO OURSELVES?

I’ve found as I’ve gotten older (and made many wrong choices from not trusted my gut) that I tend to listen to my little friend more often.  The more I trust that little voice the more it leads me.  Not just in major situations, but in my everyday life.

If you aren’t feeling very in tune with your intuition or your connection to the Divine here are three things you can do to start feeling the connection:

1.  Make a list of at least 3 times in the past where you just knew something didn’t feel right. Whether it was a situation with you, your kids, at work, any time you just had that feeling.  How did you feel?  Did you feel sick to your stomach, did you feel anxious, did you get short of breath, start sweating?  As you make your list you might see a pattern of how your intuition speaks to you.  DON’T IGNORE THIS!  Now you that you know the way your intuition communicates with you watch for these signs in future situation.

2.  Be still.  Often during the day we are on automatic.  Rushing here and there without a second thought.  During that mad rush something comes up, you don’t feel right about it but you shake it off and keep moving 60 mph.  This is where you need to STOP and BE STILL.  Pay attention to what you’re feeling.  Don’t ignore it. What doesn’t feel right?  Why? Work through it for a few minutes and see if you change your mind. Being still will help you see the situation with clarity and make a better assessment and decision you feel good about.

3.  Here’s that “F” word I speak about so often…FEAR.  Don’t let fear override your intuition.  Fear of being judged or not liked by others.  If you feel in your gut something is not right, it’s probably not.  Remember, your intuition is your friend and there to guide you.

Who cares what anyone else thinks…. GO WITH YOUR GUT! It used to bug me when my mama would say to me…“I just know”.  Well, she was usually right.  I find myself saying those exact words to my kids…so I started taking my own advice. I now listen to my SELF when I JUST KNOW.

Start listening to the whispers and you’ll always be guided towards the right path.

Until next time…simply being me!
